The journey to the Lexus Melbourne Cup continued with the $304,285 Listed Lexus Andrew Ramsden (2800m), where winner Basilinna earned a coveted golden ticket to the 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup.
Andrew Ramsden (1934–2013) made a significant impact on the Victoria Racing Club (VRC), serving on the Committee for 21 years and holding positions such as Honorary Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and Chairman (1998–2003).
This race was named in honour of his contributions to the VRC and his passion for staying races.
