Elizabeth and Damian Hurley to celebrate Cup Week at Flemington

Globally recognised actor and model Elizabeth and her 22-year-old son Damian will enjoy two days of Cup Week, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day and Crown Oaks Day, as guests in the VRC Committee Room and attend Flemington’s famous Birdcage Enclosure.

Elizabeth and Damian will also show their support to the Australian fashion industry and be part of the iconic Fashions on the Field in The Park to announce the overall winners of both the Best Suited and Best Dressed competitions.

Elizabeth said she was excited to return to Australia with her son Damian to be part of such a world-class event.

“Damian and I are thrilled to be coming to Australia to celebrate the Melbourne Cup Carnival with the Victoria Racing Club,” Elizabeth said.

“Watched by millions across the globe, we are looking forward to being at Flemington to experience the event first-hand and hopefully find a winner along the way. We are also very much looking forward to all the fashion and entertainment that makes this carnival truly unique.”

Away from the track, Elizabeth and Damian will be part of the post Lexus Melbourne Cup Day celebrations at the Crown Oaks Club lunch, held annually on the day between Cup and Oaks Day. Elizabeth and Damian will join the event hosts on stage to talk about their Cup Week experiences.

VRC Chairman Neil Wilson said the club was delighted to welcome Elizabeth and Damian to Australia for the 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

“We are honoured Elizabeth and Damian have accepted our invitation to attend Cup Week and celebrate the world class racing and enjoy this year’s edition of Australia’s original major event with the Victoria Racing Club,” Mr Wilson said.

“Regarded as one of the world’s most vibrant horse racing events, the Melbourne Cup Carnival, headlined by the Lexus Melbourne Cup, is a uniquely Australian celebration of sport, fashion, food, entertainment, community and culture and the Victoria Racing Club looks forward to sharing the occasion with Elizabeth and Damian.”

All the action from the 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival can be seen live and free across the Nine Network, the official broadcast partner and new home of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. For our international audience, each of the four days of Cup Week has a two-hour international program shared with more than 200 countries and territories and a potential audience of 750 million.
