Living Legends welcomes Lankan Rupee and So Si Bon

Lankan Rupee

The beloved Lankan Rupee is well-known for his distinctive heart-shaped star on his head, but his track record also speaks volumes. Trained by Mick Price, the 14-year-old gelding’s career was marked by remarkable achievements, including victories in five Group 1 races and over $4 million in prizemoney from 2012 to 2018. His unforgettable triumph in the 2014 Manikato Stakes is etched in racing history, showcasing his unparalleled talent and determination. Lankan Rupee’s victories in the 2014 Newmarket Handicap and the 2015 Lightning Stakes at Flemington solidified his status as a true star in the racing world.

So Si Bon

Joining Lankan Rupee is So Si Bon, the striking 10-year-old black gelding who overcame early setbacks – including a ‘bad boy’ reputation for biting other horses – to carve out an enduringly successful career. Initially trained by Robbie Laing before transitioning to Lindsay Park, So Si Bon had 95 starts that reaped $2.3 million in prizemoney, including two Group 3 wins, two Listed victories, and four Group 1 placings. After his retirement in 2023 he made a brief debut as a show horse before the decision was made to send him to Living Legends, where he will take up residence later this year.
